Recycling conserves valuable resources in America. Each year tons of metals that would be filling our landfills are being recycled to be used again and again. No one likes to play catch or walk their dog on a landfill, and we are very proud to do our part in reducing the footprint of landfills.
Mining operations to retrieve metal from the earth are disruptive and require excavation of our planet. Metals recycling reduces the need to dig up tons material, and the environment is better off because of that.
The scrap recycling industry provides good-paying jobs all over America. The work we do keeps America growing and building, and it is likely today that you have touched or encountered recycled metal. Additionally, our work keeps products affordable for Americans by reducing metal cost.
And finally, commercial metals recycling makes financial sense. Recyclers get paid for their scrap metal, and it is always nice to receive money for something that would be thrown away if recycling did not exist.

- The British Metals Recycling Association says the metal in your mobile phone could be recycled into an Olympic medal. Tokyo's Olympic medals were made from 78,985 tons of recycled electronic devices, including mobile phones.
